OMC graduate Cameron Moncrief looks to the future in project management
Where are you from? Why did you choose to attend FSU ?
I am from Panama City, Florida. It has always been my dream to attend the best college in the state of Florida (FSU).
What inspired you to choose your degree program?
I chose my graduate degree because I have always had an interest in project management. I knew the Organizational Management and Communication graduate program was a fantastic option to make my dreams of project management come true.
What has your experience been so far in the program?
This graduate program has been amazing; I have learned so many different things about organizational management and communications. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to study through this program, it has set me up for success in the management field.
What aspect of your area of study do you find most fascinating?
I find project management the most fascinating. Before this program, I didn’t know there were so many different types of project management, both the logistical side and the construction-based side. I have learned how to be a better project manager from the Organizational Management and Communication graduate program.
Who are the faculty or staff members that have helped or inspired you?
All my professors and the advising staff have been everything I could have asked for and more. They have walked me step by step through this program with every question I have had.
What do you like to do when you’re not doing school work?
In my free time I like to golf and fly.
After you graduate, what are your plans?
I plan to continue to work in project management for the next few years while working towards obtaining my Florida general contractor’s license.
What advice do you have for fellow students?
Cultivate humility, always learn from your peers, and don’t be afraid to ask for help, we are not supposed to know everything, so it is okay to ask.
