Where are you from? Why did you choose to attend FSU? 

I am from Freeport, Florida. I chose to attend FSU for their amazing programs and it being close to home. 

What inspired you to choose your degree program? 

I chose to pursue the MS in corporate and public communication degree after starting my non-profit when I was 16. I found a passion for branding, communications, and public relations throughout my experiences. 

What has your experience been so far in the program? 

I have really enjoyed this program and have found a multitude of passions that are inspiring me to continue my education further and help add to the body of knowledge of my field through research. 

What aspect of your area of study do you find most fascinating? 

I find the area of brand perception the most interesting. Studying consumer’s attitudes and conducting research on behalf of a brand in order to help them further shape and manage their perception is one of the most exciting components of my field to me. 

Who are the faculty or staff members that have helped or inspired you? 

I would have to say I have been blessed to have a multitude of faculty and staff members at my disposal as a resource in pursing my goals both inside and outside of the classroom. However more recently, Dr. Sellers and Dr. Parker have helped me find and navigate a new found interest in communications research.

What do you like to do when you’re not doing school work? 

When I am not working on school work, I work pretty heavily on my non-profit, the Princesses of Paradise, a pageant system for women and girls with significant medical conditions. When I need to unwind I love to read, write creatively, cook, sew, and play with my cat, Mocha. 

After you graduate, what are your plans?

When I graduate, I am hoping to continue my research at a research institution as a Doctorate student. After that my career goal is to become an independent researcher for brands and consumer products to help those in need of refining their communications and their brand perceptions. 

What advice do you have for fellow students? 

Stay organized, and stay driven! Your goals are within reach, just be sure to keep going and set yourself up for success!
